Hi everyone - I've just popped in to say hi

We had a busy day yesterday - (Sat) - it was the special occasion where the 1st Battalion Queens Dragoon Guards (Welsh Cavalry) we being granted the Freedom of the city of Swansea - which co-incides with Swanseas 40th anniversary at city status, and the 50th anniversary of the QDG as a Regiment. We did also try to catch the Airshow yesterday - but even though we did have a chance to go around some of the displays and stands - by 2.30 it started raining heavy and by the time we managed to catch a bus and a taxi to get us home - both Ray and myself were soaked to the skin and Ray was in so much pain I put him in the hot tub, and tried to ease the pain with a massage.


Today was a better day weather wise, but Ray wan't up to going so I went down on my own to the Airshow. Had a good chance to see a lot of the fly overs - inlcuding the Battle of Britain with the Hurricane, Spitfire and the big Lancaster Bomber. What a spectacle. I did try to take pics, but not sure how they've turned out. I'm holding back on downloading them just incase they are rubbish. Had a good chat with a lot of 'guys in uniform' - and good looking ones at that. Some have not long been back from Afghanistan - and lost comrades out there.

Well - thats my weekend - a thoroughly enjoyable one it was too - although, I could have done without the rain. Back to 'normal' tomorrow - well, whatever is normal for me anyroad - which is usually chaos and not always organised chaos.

Babs, this is a really good informative blog, and well set out. Looking forward to seeing some of the airshow pics. I tried to post this comment on your blog but it would not let me, am on break at work

Thanks Lorraine for taking the time to read it. I'm glad you like it. It should have let you post a comment on it - Shallini was able to - but I know she has a google blog. Maybe that has something to do with why it wouldn't let you. Although that is only a guess.

Thats the sort of thing that I write for the REA and will be adding to my new web site. I've got a name for it, and the background design is planned (in my head). I'm just hoping that Ruthie can translate it to online for me. She did my DollWear site with all the poppies, and because it will be military related, I want the same template on the Journal site too. The name I'd thought of calling it was Babs n Rays Tribute Journal. I don't want it to have Military or Armed Forces or anything like that in the title - I don't want any 'anti war' people slagging it off - even though it won't be promoting war only paying tribute to those that lie under cold marble or slate slabs that didn't come home, and givingsupport to those that are actively serving.

I've got lots of things to add - backdated stuff from things we've gone to with the REA. I could also do a piece on my trip to Nepal.

Oh - while I remember - I love the new id and avvy too. Its very mysterious

ruthie does some good templates, had a few from her, and she did my rolling banner, I may get her to do me a template for my website when I set it up, am confused just looking at how to do it, but quad said he would help, he is busy setting his own up at the moment, just want it for my poetry and of course to plug ebid I have a blog but it is pretty crap and there is adverts popping up all over the place, so don't advertise it, never got much sleep today and am working the next two nights, it is very warm and even if I put fan on, it is noisy, hoping for a quiet night hope I aint jinxed it now

I did try to sort it myself too, but got confused with the template part of the web builder, so I thought 'better not in case I create a muddle'. Hopefully Ruthie can help me out. I've PM'd her with a brief out line of what I fancy if she is able to help me out. Once its built, I can potter about with the little fiddles adding bits or amending bits, but as with all things computer related I have no idea where to start.

Hopefully it will be a quite night for you. Its annoying when you can't sleep during the day when you're working nights. Would something like ear plugs work to muffle some of the noise?

Not noisy here at all, its the heat, me too, crap at setting things up but once i know how to as with this it seems easy.

When I get too hot, I end up sleeping ontop of the blankets. If that doesn't work, then I drape a damp flannel on the back of my neck or on my forehead. It works to cool me down. I also use a flannel when I have a migraine - it eases them enough so I can take tables to finish the job.

I dont wear nightwear and only have a thin cotton sheet, no trouble sleeping in winter, but it is so stuffy in summer, ok with fan on but then that disturbs me, seem to get all stuffy and headachy even though I take strong anti histimes. no problem when sleeping on a night cos it is cooler, ah well. love the summer though

I don't wear a nighty or anything either - the only thing I wear at night is my jewellery and a smile.

If we ever get burglers when its really hot and I'm sleeping atop of the bedcovers, they'd probably runout forgetting their 'loot'

well y buddy hell - there's no one home here either. I can see I'll either have to change my perfume or buy a better watch.

Just to let you know - I've checked the settings on my blog - and have altered things - so you should be able to comment on it now if you wish. I hadn't realised but it was only set for people who had google blogs. I've now got it set for anyone to leave a comment - the same as my lenses.

Blogging is a newish thing and I hadn't figured out the control settings properly.

wish I'd known you online this morning early, was working but usually no-one about, will go to your blog sometime today, I have one but don't really know how to use it properly, it's crappy, am going to spend some time on it, when I have time, lol, just done three 11 hour nightshifts so am pretty worn out, off tonight, cleaning all day tomorrow, meeting friend for breakfast on friday then she is coming back to mine so I can show her more how to use her laptop and how to chat on here, lol

I'm usually always about until at least 1.30, and sometimes until 2.30 going on for 3 - a lot depends if I feel sleepy or not - and depends on what I've been doing all day. Cos I'm not working properly - only sewing - pottering in the garden, around the house and other daft things, or sometimes if Ray is up to it we go somewhere - town or some REA activity or if he's really feeling good we do go to the club sometimes - I'm not really doing anything to make myself feel tired.

Glad your night shifts are over and you've got a few days off. Its nice when you get visitors too - we get them on the odd occasion, but no - one stays overnight cos we haven't got room for them. Well, at a push, we'd have to make room, but all our friends are local to us so we've never had to.

I'm still learning to with the blog. Its a bit like a scrolling diary - the new stuff is at the top and the older stuff scrolls to the bottom with links to the titles of it on the right hand side.

The problem I have is that I have stuff in so many places, I forget where I am altogether. Thats one reason why I have a list of other places where I am on my web site. Si I can find me.

going to have a play with it tonight, lol, I always have a lot of applications open, here, quads, ebid, etc, just click in and out of them, lol, not selling too well on ebid lately, gonna list some stuff on the expensive place just to get rid of stuff, lol

I can't be bothered listing on ebay now - it is far to expensive - unles they are items I'd list for a high amount - like the knitting machine and a couple of saris I wanted to sell out of the way.

For the low priced things as most of mine are, I bundle them in a box and bootsale them.

Sunday only day I sleep in, so very rarely go to bootsale, now and again list on feebay only items I know will sell or 99p starters that are free to list, get about 50p once feebay and paypal take their cut, but do quite well on higher priced items when I list them, do not like to go there but sometimes a clear out is necessary

We have boot sales around this way on a Sat and Sun - the Sat one is nearer to us and is better for selling but sometimes when the weather promises good I do both - although the Sun one isn't so good for selling. I can sell the same amount of stuff, just make less money cos the buyers are less keen to spend money - and have deeper pockets
